VP of Supply Chain Services to Strengthen Clients' Strategies and Operations
RALEIGH, NC, January 18, 2011 - Mark McCallister has joined Tompkins Associates, a global supply chain consulting and execution firm, as Vice President of Supply Chain Services.
"Mark has come on board to help our clients meet their strategy and operational business needs," says Jim Tompkins, President and CEO. "We have focused on end-to-end business solutions for 35 years, but as 'new product development and supply chain' becomes more of a hot topic in boardrooms around the world, we want to ensure that companies are aware of resources available to maximize their performance."
Mark's expertise includes new product development, strategic sourcing, forecasting and inventory management, network strategy, manufacturing, and logistics. He has worked on engagements across a number of industries, including: retail, consumer products, high tech, telecommunications and biotech, with clients such as Nike, Ross Stores, Sears, Montgomery Ward, The Body Shop, Publix Supermarkets, Xerox, AT&T Wireless, Sprint and Invirtogen.
Prior to joining Tompkins, Mark held an array of leading consulting and industry positions. He was Director of Strategic Planning and Engineering with Starbucks Coffee, responsible for developing their North American supply chain strategy, where he led the design, build and startup of all manufacturing plants and distribution centers to grow Starbucks from a $200 million regional roasting company to a $2.5 billion North American business in less than 3 years.
In addition, Mark was a principal with Andersen Business Consulting, held positions with Ernst & Young and Deloitte, and was among the first handful of people hired to launch Andersen Consulting's global supply chain practice (now Accenture).
An Industrial Engineering graduate of Bradley University, Mark is based in the San Francisco Bay area.
