Spirax Sarco Launches World's Oldest Working Steam Boiler Contest

Spirax Sarco, the leader in products and services for steam systems, has launched the “World’s Oldest Working Steam Boiler Contest” in the January issue of SteamNews magazine and will accept submission through June 1, 2014.

Participants are asked to locate the world’s oldest commercially working steam boiler in an industrial or building service setting (no museum displays). Grand prize winner will be awarded an Amazon – Kindle Paperwhite – 2 GB and announced in the July issue of SteamNews.

“Steam systems have a reputation for being reliable and robust, working for many years with minimal maintenance. Modern steam systems are many times more efficient than older systems and Spirax Sarco would like to prove the point by comparing a modern system with a really old one. But first we have to find the oldest one.” Tracy Britt, Marketing Communication Coordinator, Spirax Sarco said.

Contest rules are as follows: Spirax Sarco employees, immediate family members or other affiliates are not eligible for prize award. To qualify, subscribe to SteamNews magazine’s latest issue at bit.ly/zYjZsw and receive additional details regarding how to send your submission. Please include with your submission your full name, company name, information for verification and a .jpg image of the oldest working steam boiler. Submissions will not be accepted or entered without the proper information. The winner will be notified by email on July 1, 2014.
