Specialty Optical Fiber Industry Veteran Joins Fiberguide Industries


(Stirling, NJ - 28 August 2008) Charles ("Charlie") Harrington, previously of American Medical Systems Innovation Center (formerly InnovaQuartz, Inc.), Phoenix, Arizona, a manufacturer of minimally-invasive medical devices, including medical lasers and advanced fiber-optic delivery devices and hard clad multimode optical fibers, has joined Fiberguide's New Jersey engineering department.

Ted Rich, President of Fiberguide states "we are excited to have Charlie join our New Jersey production and engineering staff, where he will utilize his more than (30) years of engineering skills in process control and project management of specialty optical fiber manufacturing, to keep Fiberguide at the forefront of supplying the market with the highest quality fiber".

Charlie began his career in Specialty Optical Fibers at the former Galite Inc, a division of Galileo Electro-Optics in Wallingford, Connecticut, which subsequently became Pirelli Optical Fibers. Charlie continued his career at American Fiber Optics, Spectran, Quartzguide, PolymicroTechnologies, and Meteor Optics. Charlie's experience and expertise encompasses the design, installation and operation of optical fiber draw towers, preform manufacturing and all ancillary instrumentation and processes
