SPE names Jon Ratzlaff as President during ANTEC® 2013.

At ANTEC® 2013, SPE installed Jon Ratzlaff, technical services manager for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP, as President. Ratzlaff has been SPE member since 1995, is SPE Certified Plastics Technologist, and is an author of SPE Injection Molding Technicians Toolbox guide. Society also named Vijay B. Boolani as President-elect, who is President of Boolani Engineering Corporation in Mumbai, India. Boolani, SPE member since 1981, was Chair of ANTEC® Mumbai held in December 2012.

SPE Installs Jon Ratzlaff as President and Vijay B. Boolani as President-Elect; Announces 2013-2014 Executive Committee



CINCINNATI - Following longstanding practice, ANTEC® 2013 marks the beginning of one-year terms for new officers of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), it was announced today by Willem De Vos, SPE CEO.



The Society installs Jon Ratzlaff as its new president, succeeding James S. Griffing. Ratzlaff is technical services manager for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP.



At ANTEC® 2014, Ratzlaff will be succeeded by the new president-elect, Vijay B. Boolani, who is president of Boolani Engineering Corporation in Mumbai, India.

Biographic Sketches of New SPE President and President-Elect



SPE president Jon Ratzlaff is technical services manager for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP and resides in Oklahoma. He obtained his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.  An SPE member since 1995, Ratzlaff held the positions of president-elect in 2012-13 and senior vice president in 2011-12.  He is an SPE Certified Plastics Technologist and one of the authors of the SPE Injection Molding Technicians Toolbox guide.  Ratzlaff served as chair of the SPE Rotational Molding Division in 2001-2002 and president of the Oklahoma Section in 2002-2003.  He served four years as chair of SPE's International Committee (2004-2008) and notes that he is especially pleased to see the growth of the Society internationally since that time.



SPE president-elect Vijay B. Boolani is president of Boolani Engineering Corporation in Mumbai, India. He served as SPE vice president/secretary in 2009-2010 and as vice president in 2007-2009.  An SPE member since 1981, Boolani was Chair of the very successful ANTEC® Mumbai held in December 2012.  He notes that he strongly supports the introduction of new events not only in the Asia-Pacific region but throughout the worldwide plastics and polymer industry.
