Sparton Corporation Wins 2015 Florida Manufacturer of the Year Award


DELEON SPRINGS, FL (xxx, xx, 2016) - Sparton Corporation (NYSE: SPA) announced that their DeLeon Springs Facility has won the 2015 Florida Manufacturer of the Year award. The Awards Ceremony was held at the 12th Annual Manufacturers Summit and Marketplace recently held in West Palm beach, FL. The winners were determined and announced by the Manufacturers Association of Florida (MAF).



“All our finalists demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their manufacturing businesses. We were delighted to have such a diverse representation of Florida manufacturers and distributors in the competition. We are very proud of our winners of this prestigious award; they are truly the best in class” said Nancy Stephens, Executive Director, Manufacturers Association of Florida.



Thirty-six judges narrowed the competition to twenty-one finalists in five categories. Each company was judged on its leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce focus, and process management. The judges also toured the facilities of each finalist.



The Sparton DeLeon Springs (DLS) facility won in Category 4 (250+ Employees). The DLS facility maintains multiple test systems for the environmental, electrical, and mechanical evaluation of their products. Sparton designs and manufactures complex electronic and electro-mechanical products and sub-assemblies, including underwater sensors. The DLS facility holds a variety of globally-recognized certifications and specializes in the rapid development of custom solutions for use in harsh oceanographic environments.
