Sodick to Feature New Technology at IMTS Booth E-4418

Sodick Inc., will be featuring its latest innovative technology at IMTS 2010 in booth E-4418.

Sodick's newest cost-friendly, Wire EDMs, the VZ300L and VZ500L will be making their debut at IMTS 2010. The VZ Series is high speed, high precision and features Sodick's linear motor technology. "This system employs a direct-drive, frictionless, vibration-free mechanism that has unrivaled acceleration and positioning accuracy with no backlash," said a company spokesperson. The VZ Series features Sodick's 10 year positioning guarantee.

In addition to the VZ Series, the AP250L, AG400L and AG600L Linear Motor Driven, Wire EDMs will be on display at IMTS. The AP250L is a Fine Wire EDM that provides instantaneous servo time that maximizes cutting efficiency. The AP Series is used to EDM small intricate precision parts that require a micro wire diameter. The AG400L and AG600L are high precision, high speed CNC Wire EDMs. The AG Series includes direct drive linear motors with Heidenhain absolute glass scale feedback, an energy saving circuit to save on power consumption, motion controller to provide simultaneous axis movement, on-board user-friendly Heart NC cam system, a rise fall work tank and a 10 year positioning guarantee.

Sodick's CNC Sinker EDM line will also be present at IMTS. This includes the AD3L, AG60L and C32. The AD3L can reduce EDMing time as much as 50%. The menu-driven control automatically writes the NC code for the operator while inserting optimum cutting conditions. With its instantaneous responsive control and no flush technology, Sodick's AD3L CNC Sinker can take the impossible and make it possible. The AG60L features high speed and high acceleration linear motor drives, this enables even and natural flushing condition that leads to perfect part accuracy. The C32 is Sodick's most affordable CNC Sinker EDM. Due to its compact size, it is a sure fit for any shop's floorspace and budget. The C32 features no flush technology, zero electrode wear and a user-friendly control.

Sodick will be showcasing one of their CNC Small Hole Sinkers, the K3HN. The K3HN high speed Small Hole Driller machines difficult to cut carbide and heat treated workpieces. The K3HN uses Sodick's patented Vitol machining fluid, this allows EDMing at much faster speeds than small hole machines that use water as a dielectric fluid.

Sodick will also feature one of its High Speed Mills at IMTS. The HS650L includes a linear motor drive system, 40,000 rpm spindle and has an axes range of 25 x 20 x 12 in (X, Y, Z) with a table size of 30 x 20 in. The HS Series is a highly rigid, robust machine capable of withstanding the rapid acceleration and deceleration generated by linear motors allowing for a wide range of high-quality finish, complex machining.
The Sodick Plustech LD20EH2 Horizontal Injection Molding Machine will also be shown. This ultra precision injection molding machine employs its patented V-Line Processing System whereby the melt is first plasticized by a stationary screw (not by a reciprocating screw), and then injected in the tool using a high acceleration plunger, coupled with a true Hybrid (Non-Toggle) precision clamping mechanism.

Sodick Inc., established in 1976, has sold over 50,000 EDMs worldwide and has had over 25,000 linear motor EDM deliveries. Sodick machines are used for the production of dies and molds as well as other various applications that cannot be produced by standard machining methods. Sodick has four ISO certified manufacturing facilities with over 3,100 employees worldwide and technical centers located in Chicago, New Jersey and California. Sodick offers the industry's first 10 year positioning guarantee on all of its linear motor driven EDMs.
