SME Only Non Profit Show Management Organization with Three Shows In Top 200


DEARBORN, Mich., June 9, 2006 - The Society of Manufacturing Engineers
(SME) continues to be listed as the only not for profit Show Management
Organization amongst the leading Tradeshow Producers with three or more
tradeshows that rank in the top 200 as listed by Tradeshow Week in 2005.
SME has maintained this distinction for more than 10 years.

SME's ranked events include the FABTECH International & AWS Welding Show
(#53), WESTEC (#147) and EASTEC (#173). Combined, the three shows
equal more than 771,000 square feet with almost 2,000 exhibiting companies.
The three events attracted more than 58,700 visitors annually.

The three tradeshows all experienced growth in 2005 both in size and in the
number of exhibiting companies. The combination of FABTECH with the AWS
Welding show more than doubled in size while WESTEC & EASTEC both had an
increase in size of over 10,000 square feet.

SME partners with the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International
and the American Welding Society on the FABTECH International & AWS
Welding Show. SME partners with the Association for Manufacturing
Technology and the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association on
WESTEC and EASTEC.
