SME Education Foundation Supports Focus: HOPE's STEM Bridge Program



Foundation donation helps next generation of manufacturing and engineering professionals



(DEARBORN, Mich.) – The SME Education Foundation is pleased to announce its continued support of Focus: HOPE in 2014. In recognition of Focus HOPE’s STEM Bridge program, the SME Education Foundation has committed $25,000 in funding.



Through this and other initiatives, the SME Education Foundation provides K-12 students, college students and students enrolled in technical training programs with scholarships and access to additional manufacturing educational resources.



“The SME Education Foundation is committed to supporting educational organizations, such as Focus: HOPE’s STEM Bridge program for students pursuing careers in manufacturing, manufacturing technology and manufacturing engineering,” said Brian Ruestow, President of the SME Education Foundation. “By supporting this program and many other programs like this, we emphasize our continued commitment to today’s students, who will be essential to the future of the manufacturing industry.”



In the last decade, the SME Education Foundation has provided Focus: HOPE with nearly $100,000 in scholarship funding, specifically designated for students enrolled in the Machining Training Institute. SME’s Education Foundation relies on corporations, foundations, organizations and individuals to develop and finance programs that inspire and support students’ interest in manufacturing careers. Donations and scholarships advance the career opportunities needed for these students as they transition from academia into the workforce.
