Press release date: February 13, 2006

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 13 / -- With its recent acquisition of the Wireless & Connectivity Solution Business of TROY Group, Inc., silex technology america now offers the industry's broadest range of solutions for securely modifying, transferring and storing confidential patient records, as well as securely connecting medical devices to wireless and wired networks and to the Internet.

The new complete silex product line includes cost-effective network connectivity and biometric solutions that help healthcare organizations -- and the information within them -- remain secure. With these solutions, it is possible to connect any medical device that has a USB, RS-232/422/485, or parallel port to an Ethernet wired network or to an 802.11b/g wireless network, thereby allowing centralized monitoring and control of all devices in a healthcare facility. External box solutions are available for simple plug-and-play connectivity for end-user and VAR customers, while embedded module solutions are offered for medical device OEM customers.

Another silex advantage is the possession of the industry's most comprehensive suite of security capabilities that meet the HIPAA Security and Privacy Rules. silex's industry-leading biometric fingerprint readers and software can be used to restrict access to computers, printers, and documents containing sensitive patient information, with automatic file/record encryption and decryption. In addition, silex device server products implement major networking security standards like 802.1x, EAP, TTLS, LEAP, PEAP, WEP, WPA, and WPA2 to ensure that sensitive data will not be compromised.

"With the addition of TROY Group's innovative networking product line and experienced professional staff, silex can meet virtually all of the device connectivity requirements of end-users and OEMs in the medical field," said Keith Sugawara, general manager of silex technology america. "We strongly feel that we now offer the widest range of products in the industry, along with the most extensive security capabilities."

The new silex product line will be demonstrated and displayed at booth No. 7819 in the Sails Pavilion at the San Diego Convention Center during the HIMSS06 Annual Conference & Exhibition, Feb. 12 - 16, 2006.
