Siemens Steam Turbine Generator for Biomass Power Plant in the UK

Siemens Energy has received a follow-up order to supply a steam turbine-generator in small scale decentralized recycling and landfill sites in the county Nottinghamshire. Purchaser is the British power company Bioflame. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of 2011.

The Yorkshire based company Bioflame develops biomass incinerators which will generate ecofriendly power and heat by burning waste wood. The Siemens scope of supply encompasses a SST-110 turbine generator including gear and oil system as well as auxiliary systems. Siemens delivers the fifth turbine in a row to Bioflame. The British Company has already secured planning permission for 17 biomass incinerators.
