Siemens Secures Order from Hungary for Combined Cycle Power Plant

Siemens Power Generation (PG) has booked an order for a turnkey combined-cycle power plant in Gönyü, Hungary. The customer is E.ON Erömüvek Kft., a Hungarian subsidiary of E.ON Kraftwerke GmbH, Hannover. The total capital investment volume for this plants amounts to approximately EUR400 million, The plant is scheduled to go into operation for mid 2010.

Siemens PG is to construct a gas-fired power plant at Gönyü, in the growth region around the industrial city of Györ in northwest Hungary. The combined-cycle plant will feature an installed capacity of 430 megawatts (MW), sufficient to supply about 600,000 households with electricity.

The Siemens scope of supply includes a type SGT5-4000F gas turbine, a steam turbine and a water-cooled generator. Further items in the scope of supply are the heat recovery steam generator, the mechanical systems along with the electrical and instrumentation & control (I&C) systems. The contract also includes a service program with a duration of nine years.
