Siemens Expands Pressure Transmitter Portfolio

Spring House, PA, – Siemens Process Industries Drives Division announced today that it is expanding the SITRANS pressure transmitter portfolio with the newly developed SITRANS P310 for basic measurement and the advanced SITRANS P410. The newest products for the SITRANS line will be manufactured locally in Spring House, Pa., and shipped to customers in North America. The Spring House manufacturing plant is a 75,000 Sq. Ft. facility, and houses approximately 135 employees.

In addition to releasing these new models, the proven SITRANS P DS III has been enhanced to deliver improved accuracy across the whole pressure range. The previously released premium SITRANS P500 completes the SITRANS P family and is designed for the most challenging applications. With a comprehensive SITRANS P pressure portfolio, Siemens offers the option to select the right device class for virtually any process pressure measurement.

The SITRANS P310 pressure transmitter offers a measurement accuracy of 0.075% percent, making it ideal for basic applications such as water supply and disposal.

The SITRANS P410 is a digital pressure transmitter with integrated diagnostic functions for HART, PROFIBUS PA- or FOUNDATION Fieldbus communication. The SITRANS P410 complements the existing DS III as a “high performance” version with increased measuring accuracy of 0.04%.

The P500 offers standard measurement ranges from 0.0145 to 465 psi and is engineered to cope with the most stringent demands. With a response time of 0.08 sec. and the ability to operate in temperatures ranging between -40 °F to 257 °F, the P500 is ideally suited for the ultra-precise measurement of differential pressure, filling level and flow rate.

The tried and tested DS III is enhanced with premium sensor technology, offering improved basic accuracy and temperature range. Measurement has been optimized to 0.065% deviation, with a turndown of 1:1 to 5:1.

The SITRANS P portfolio carries approvals necessary for industrial applications including SIL 2/3 and common Ex zone certification. All devices in the series are simple to operate using just three push buttons. Since the transmitters offer a long-term stability of 0.125% over a period of five years, calibration cycles can be extended and maintenance work reduced. Siemens stands behind the quality of their pressure instrumentation by offering a 5 year powered warranty as standard on most models. The Spring House, Pa., facility is the Siemens lead factory for clamp-on ultrasonic flow products as well as valve positioners and pneumatic products. Moreover, Spring House is the North American configuration center for pressure, temperature, smart valve and flow products.
