Semrock® Releases New 2008 Catalog

More than 70 innovative new products added.

ROCHESTER, N.Y., January 7, 2008 - Semrock, Inc., today announced the release of its new 64-page full-color 2008 optical filter catalog. This latest catalog presents seven product families, and introduces over 70 new optical filter products, for applications ranging from fluorescence instrumentation and microscopy to Raman spectroscopy and other laser analytical instrumentation, augmented by a series of 22 helpful tutorial notes.

The 2008 catalog features many new products that further broaden Semrock's flagship series of BrightLine® fluorescence filters. A complete line of state-of-the-art fluorescence filter sets optimized for FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) clinical-scale genetic screening have been introduced. Independent expert evaluations have shown that FISH images using these new BrightLine filters can be obtained in as little as one half the exposure time compared to other premium FISH filter sets on the market. Also, the new BrightLine Basic series of fluorescence filter sets offer unprecedented value, combining the "no burn-out" durability of Semrock's popular flagship BrightLine fluorescence filters with performance that exceeds that of even premium soft-coated fluorescence filters, all at a highly competitive price.

The 2008 catalog features the latest additions to the company's popular RazorEdge® (ultrasteep edge) filters for Raman Spectroscopy - stocked for laser wavelengths ranging from 224 nm to 1064 nm. Semrock's latest RazorEdge filters set another new performance standard, with initial offerings for the popular 532, 633, and 785 nm laser wavelengths boasting an edge steepness (measured from optical density 6 to 50% transmission) of only 0.2% of the laser wavelength - translating to 1 nm for a 532 nm edge filter! And Semrock's unique RazorEdge dichroic filters - ultrasteep filters for use at 45 degrees incidence - have been augmented and price-reduced.

Also highlighted are the new MaxLamp(TM) mercury line filters that efficiently select the highly desired arc lamp lines of 254 nm and 365 nm.

All Semrock catalog products ship quickly - most from stock - and are covered under the company's industry-leading five-year warranty.
