Seiko Instruments USA Announces New President and CEO


Torrance, CA, August 31, 2009 - Seiko Instruments USA Inc. (SIU) www.siiprinters.com, a globally recognized leader in precision manufacturing and technology, today announced the appointment of Satoshi Kanesaka as president and CEO. Mr. Kanesaka brings over 25 years of management, technology, and international business experience to SIU. Before joining SIU, Mr. Kanesaka held leadership roles in executive management, international marketing and sales, and engineering in Europe, Asia, and North America. Most recently, he served as Executive Manager, Corporate Planning Group for Seiko Instruments Inc., SIU's parent company, based in Chiba, Japan.

Mr. Kanesaka holds a degree in precise mechanical engineering from the prestigious Tokyo University School of Engineering and served as an adjunct professor at Chiba University. He replaces Akira Yamamoto, who is retiring after leading Seiko Instruments USA for 8 years.
