Seco Named Affiliated Distributors' Supplier of the Year for Marketing Excellence
TROY, Mich. – Affiliated Distributors’ Industrial Supply Division recently named Seco Tools its 2013 Supplier of the Year for Marketing Excellence. The prestigious accolade is part of Affiliated Distributors’ annual Spirit of Independence Awards Ceremony that recognizes individual affiliates and suppliers that demonstrate consistent excellence in marketing, performance and/or leadership.
“At Seco, we believe in creating strategic partnerships with our distributors so that, together, we can accomplish greater objectives that ensure mutual success,” said Mike Parker, director of engineering, marketing and product development for Seco Tools. “We make every effort to align our work with our distributors’ needs, and this honor validates that approach. It is also a testament to the dedication and collaboration of our internal sales, distributor and marketing teams.”
According to Parker, the industrial landscape continues to get more and more challenging every year. Therefore, Seco remains committed to helping its channel partners, which include more than 100 distributors in North America, deliver winning solutions via a vast and highly flexible communication platform that accommodates changing marketplace requirements.
For example, Seco continuously improves upon its Marketing-On-Demand service that offers co-branded material and sales support to its partners, whether it’s announcing a new Seco product or special distributor promotion. Other ways in which Seco effectively connects with its distributors include quarterly industry-related newsletters, monthly marketing and public relations updates, product launch kits and comprehensive training initiatives.
“Over the past year, we've continued to put substantial resources behind supporting our distributors,” said Bob Carson, manager-distribution and business development for Seco Tools. “In addition to overhauling our Marketing-On-Demand system, we've included contacts from our distributors in a wide range of strategic activities, including product and applications education through dedicated courses in STEP, the Seco Technical Education Program. Our distributors attend these sessions at our facility in Troy, as well as in the field and at their own locations.”
