Schwender Joins Groschopp as Business Development Consultant

Power Transmission Veteran Defining Distributor Product Offerings and Developing New Sales Channels

Charles "Chuck" Schwender has joined Groschopp, Inc. as a Business Development Consultant. Schwender brings over 30 years of power transmission experience to Groschopp, and will be initially focused on helping the company define its motor, gearmotor and speed reducer market offerings for the industrial power transmission distribution sales channel.

Most recently a Senior Vice President for Sumitomo Drive Technologies, Schwender's career includes serving as a General Manager of USA Sales for F.A.G. Bearings, and executive positions with Rexnord Corporation and PT Components - Link Belt.

"Chuck has spent his entire career in power transmission, and has solid relationships with the industrial distribution sales channel," said John Cox, President of Groschopp. "We have an expansive portfolio of products and pre-engineered designs that can fill a need for industrial distributors. Chuck will be essential in helping us articulate our products and value proposition as we establish distribution sales as a primary channel to the marketplace."

Schwender's career in power transmission is marked by dedication to professional society service. He is a Lifetime Member of ASME and AISE, and was just recently installed as lifetime member of PTDA. Schwender also served two terms on the board of AGMA (American Gear Manufacturer's Association) between the years of 1987 and 2001. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Schwender received his engineering degree at Drexel University and earned his M.B.A. at Temple University.

Groschopp provides customized design and manufacturing of fractional HP motors and gearmotors for OEM applications, as well as off-the-shelf motion solutions (motors, gearmotors and controls) for unique OEM applications. The product offering includes right angle, parallel shaft and planetary speed reducers. With over 8,000 standard product platforms and over 100,000 possible product configurations, Groschopp is well-suited to the broad customer base of industrial distributors.

"Groschopp offers pre-engineered OEM solutions that are unique and application-specific, yet with the modular designs, short lead times and proven performance that are important to distributors," added Schwender. "Bringing Groschopp's products to this sales channel is a win-win for both industrial distributors and Groschopp."
