Schneider Electric North American Operating Division Names George Powers Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Administration


Palatine, Ill. (USA), October 27, 2008 -The Schneider Electric North American Operating Division announces the appointment of George Powers to senior vice president, Human Resources and Administration.

Powers began his career with Schneider Electric in 1993 as a senior compensation analyst and then held management positions in the Lexington, Ky., and Oshkosh, Wis., facilities. He was named director, Human Resources, for the sales and services division in 1997 and moved in 2002 to Toronto, Canada, where he led the human resources organization for Schneider Electric Canada. He has led numerous human resources initiatives in the United States and Canada. In 2005, he returned to the United States and was named vice president, Human Resources, for the U.S. business.

In his current role, he is responsible for strategic and operational human resources and communications leadership for the Schneider Electric North American Operating Division.

Powers holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Illinois State University and a Master of Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
