State Agriculture and Rural Leaders support AG CONNECT Expo 2010

Annual Legislative Agricultural Chairs Summit co-locates with show

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is pleased to announce today that State Agriculture and Rural Leaders (SARL) endorses the 2010 AG CONNECT Expo. SARL will also co-locate its annual Legislative Agriculture Chairs Summit with AG CONNECT Expo 2010.

AG CONNECT Expo is the new agricultural trade show slated for January 13-15, 2010 (preview day January 12 by special admission) at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. AG CONNECT Expo 2010 will showcase the latest innovations, products, services and technology in all agriculture sectors and offer access to leading worldwide industry experts. SARL's annual summit is January 15-17, 2010 in Orlando, Florida.

SARL is dedicated to fostering collaborative efforts and educational opportunities among state legislative officials from the U. S. and Canada working on agriculture issues and rural economic development. The annual summit gathers together the leaders from state and provincial legislative agriculture committees to discuss key policy issues facing rural communities.

"The members of our organization play a key role in setting agriculture and rural policy in our states and provinces," said David Johnson, SARL president and ranking member and former chair of the Iowa senate agriculture committee. "It is important to stay informed on the latest innovations for inputs and machinery. AG CONNECT Expo is full of opportunities for our members and partners to learn more about new agricultural technologies and processes that are occurring in North America and around the world."

Charlie O'Brien, AEM's vice president of agricultural services, said, "AEM has been an active supporter of SARL. It is an important link in the governmental sector and we welcome their participation. SARL's involvement in agriculture concerns made AG CONNECT Expo a natural fit for the organization. The State and Rural Leaders Summit of 2010 expects to have agricultural and rural legislative leaders from 47 states, 5 Canadian provinces and 2-3 U.S. territories.

"The objectives of the State Agriculture and Rural Leaders coincide with what we are accomplishing with AG CONNECT Expo," O'Brien said, "which is a global forum where agricultural leaders from all industry segments and from local, state, provincial and international levels can come together to discuss the future of agriculture."
