Saline Lectronics Increases SMT Capacity

SALINE, MI ¯ Saline Lectronics, Inc., a leading electronic contract manufacturer, announces that it has dramatically increased its SMT capacity with the acquisition of new manufacturing equipment including two Juki FX-3RA high-speed modular mounters. Due to recent sustained growth, as well as positive forecast projections, Saline Lectronics’ equipment expansion will allow the manufacturing floor to increase both capacity and efficiency.

In addition to the Juki mounters, Saline Lectronics also purchased a DEK Horizon 03iX printer with Hawkeye 2D inspection, two PROMATION ERB-700 Buffers and two MIRTEC MV-7XI In-Line AOI systems. With the two new AOIs, Saline Lectronics now utilizes seven AOI systems in order to 100 percent inspect all SMT placements.

This new equipment helps to increase Saline Lectronics’ overall throughput and speed, while drastically improving efficiency within SMT. Helping to reduce changeover time, manufacturing technicians will be able to rely more on these intelligent machines.

The two Juki FX-3RA High Speed Modular Mounters will be installed on two of Saline Lectronics’ SMT lines and will allow each line to place an additional 66,000 parts per hour. Placing components from 0402mm to 33.5mm, these new FX-3RA machines support everything from capacitors and resistors to ICs and BGAs. They also have improved placement accuracy as they utilize laser recognition instead of cameras. Supporting Saline Lectronics’ intelligent feeder program the Juki FX-3RA’s also integrate seamlessly with the Cogiscan TTC System.

“We have been incredibly fortunate to experience tremendous growth over the last year. In order to keep up with this progress, as well as better prepare for the future, we felt it was essential to procure this new equipment. I am thrilled that we will increase our capacity while simultaneously becoming more efficient to further streamline our SMT department,” commented Jason Sciberras, Manufacturing Manager.

Saline Lectronics is properly equipped to manufacture assemblies that are completely traceable to the component level. With the addition of this new technologically advanced equipment, Saline is able to remain flexible in order to adapt to various customers’ ever-changing needs.
