Rondo MLC - The Step to Automation


Rondo Doge, leading producer of bakery and food processing equipment and systems, has designed an innovative concept for continuous production of dough bands and billets.
Rondo Modular Laminating Concept (Rondo MLC) consists of six modular lines, which are, at any time, easily expandable to a fully automatic laminating line. As the control system is also modular, new modules are attached simply to the existing ones. A modification or an exchange of the control system is not necessary.

Being truly modular Rondo MLC matches the demand of a growing business and opens new possibilities to increase productivity, to reduce costs and to improve products quality. Rondo MLC closes therefore the gap between artisanal and highly automated industrial production.

The modules in detail Rondo MLC covers six modules for the continuous production of dough bands and billets. Each module is fast and at any time extendable, up to a fully automatic laminating line, by simply attaching new modules to the existing ones. The control system is also modular, therefore a modification or an exchange of the control system is not necessary. With a working width of 600 mm Rondo MLC can be integrated perfectly into existing pastry lines.

Block Line: Line for the production of dough blocks. The continuous dough-fat dough band is cut into uniform pieces and folded by hand to blocks with three or four layers. The fat is laid on with a fat pump or placed manually.

L-Block Line: Line for the production of dough pieces with four to 10 layers, which are folded manually into blocks. Module 1 consists of a fan-folding device; module 2 of satellite head and calibrator.

U-Block Line: Line for the production of dough billets with up to over 100 layers. Module 1 and 2 consist of a fan-folding device each; Module 3 of satellite head and calibrator.

Feeding Line: Line for the final sheeting and continuous feeding of a pastry line. Dough blocks are shingle stacked on the belt and sheeted into a dough band of exact thickness and constant width.

L-Laminating Line: Line for the production of dough pieces with four to 10 layers as well as for continuous feeding of a pastry line. Module 1 consists of a fan-folding device; Module 2 of satellite head and calibrator. For feeding the pastry line dough billets are put on the module 2 and sheeted into a dough band.

U-Laminating Line: Line for production of continuously laminated dough bands and for direct feeding of a pastry line. Module 1 and 2 consist of a fan-folding device each; module 3 of satellite head and calibrator.

All lines are equipped with a clear, easily operated touch screen and a PLC control system. Rondo MLC is made from stainless steel and easy to clean.

The unique advantages Rondo MLC makes the step into automated production very easy. Being truly modular the line is, at any time, expandable by further modules. Since also the control system is of modular structure, it must neither be modified nor exchanged with an extension. Rondo MLC grows with the business, investments into automated production are made step-by-step. Therefore the baker keeps all options open for future developments.

Continuous production of dough bands and blocks means as well: increased productivity, reduced costs and improved quality.

Rondo MLC increases the productivity of the production as time-consuming operations as weighing out of dough billets and pieces of fat are completely eliminated. This reduces the production costs as well as the lower personnel requirements for running a Rondo MLC compared to run some sheeters.

In addition Rondo MLC leads to a improvement of the product quality due to the homogeneous fat and paste layers. The dough band is uniform in width and thickness. There are no joins, and therefore no scrap. Dough blocks are uniformly rectangular with perfect layering. Scrap is drastically reduced and the quality markedly increased.
