Rockwell Automation to Present on Safety Technology and Trends at Iron and Steel Industry Event

AISTech presentations to focus on modernizing safety systems and machine safety amid evolving workforce

MILWAUKEE, May 1, 2017 - Engineering professionals from Rockwell Automation will be leading technical presentations on worker and machine safety at the 2017 AISTech event from May 8 to 11 in Nashville, Tennessee. Hosted by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology, the conference is focused on emerging technologies that can help iron and steel producers improve productivity and stay competitive amid a changing industry environment.

The presentations being led by Rockwell Automation at AISTech include the following:

Implementing a Modern Safety System on an Existing Machine - May 9 - Joe Klak, senior project engineer, will speak about implementing a contemporary safety system design on an existing machine. The presentation will walk through the control upgrade, including the risk assessment, functional specification, design procedure, component selection, design verification and system validation.

Workforce Availability: Protecting Your Investment in Productivity and Safety Amid an Evolving Global Workforce - May 10 - Steve Ludwig, safety programs manager, will present on the impact that an aging and evolving workforce has on steel producers and industrial operations. He will share considerations for the operations to maintain productivity and safety as more workers retire, and younger, less experienced workers replace them.
