Rockwell Automation Receives Frost & Sullivan 2005 Leadership in Customer Service Award

Award recognizes company's contributions to the medium voltage drives market

MILWAUKEE, Feb. 16, 2006 - Rockwell Automation has received the Frost & Sullivan 2005 Customer Service Leadership Award for its demonstrated excellence and outstanding contributions to the worldwide medium voltage drives market. The award recognizes the commitment Rockwell Automation has shown toward understanding customer requirements and providing high-quality products and services for its customers around the world.

"In addition to better process control, the Rockwell Automation medium voltage drive products have made a huge difference to the energy costs of its customers," says Frost & Sullivan research analyst Kishan M. Bhat. "With energy prices escalating, most of the end users are gradually upgrading to medium voltage drives, and this has been another critical factor in the continual expansion of the company's customer base."

In addition to its excellence in customer service, the award recognizes Rockwell Automation for its achievements in medium voltage drive technology. The company's latest direct-to-drive technology, which forms the backbone of the AllenBradley PowerFlex medium voltage drive line, has been gaining prominence across all markets. Its latest product eliminates the need for an isolation transformer, thereby reducing the total ownership cost and size of the drive.

The PowerFlex family of drives represents the industry's latest in drive design and performance, from fractional horsepower to 25,400 kW (34,000-hp) applications. This wide range makes PowerFlex drives ideal for standard and specialty industrial and commercial applications. Moreover, the simplified design reduces commissioning, training and maintenance time and significantly reduces costs of ownership.

With its strong focus on developing vast application expertise, Rockwell Automation is set to become a force to reckon with in the medium voltage drives market, according to Frost & Sullivan's recent analysis. Market share growth in North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific has made Rockwell Automation the supplier of choice in a range of industries, including power generation/utilities, oil and gas, and water and wastewater.

"Rockwell Automation has successfully leveraged its commercial approach to tackle the changing dynamics of different markets," Bagri said. "It has demonstrated a clear understanding of customer needs by offering not only high quality products, but also outstanding customer support."
