Join us for "Food Robotics"

In the food and beverage industry, those who most efficiently pack and ship specialty orders win. It is common to see robots in palletizing and de-palletizing operations, and the ability to store many program variations allow users to have multiple mixed pallet specifications for their customers. End-of-line efficiencies are but some of what robots can do in food processing to improve time-to-market.

In one hour, this RIA webinar presents different kinds of robots available to the food industry including devices that are used with them, basic safety considerations, integration methodologies, how to approach and work with systems integrators, proven application markets and short movies of food robots in action.

The seminar is free of charge with registration on the RIA website. Among other things, it covers. . .

Opportunities in robotics for pre-wrap, post-wrap; pre-box, post-box
  • Pre-wrap : continuous flow with USDA process requirements
  • Post-wrap, pre-box : currently constrained with manual labor and throughput bottleneck
  • Post-box : robots for cartoning, case packing, palletizing, truck loading

We will explain technical enablers for post-wrap, pre-box packaging, including
  • Mechanical methods
  • Vacuum methods
  • New innovation and emerging technologies for future commercialization

According to webinar speaker and industry veteran Adil Shafi, "The interest in food robotics is also spurred by the new food safety law passed this year through which the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in the US now has the power to force recalls (as opposed to make recommendations in the past). This then is encouraging manufacturers to make their environments more hygienic with robots. There is also an interest in traceability and vision inspection."
