Robotics Association Offers Insight into Future of Safety at 'What's Next' Conference



RIA and Sponsors Host October Safety Training Conference

ANN ARBOR, Michigan (August 26, 2008) - The Robotic Industries Association (RIA) and some ten industry-leading sponsor companies return to Indianapolis, Indiana, October 6-9, 2008 to present the highly acclaimed National Robot Safety Conference XX. Attendees will be trained by an elite group of safety experts and specialists providing both building-block information and the latest updates on robot and machine safety. No other program offers so much in-depth coverage on practical safety topics to address and provide solutions to meet the automation safety needs of attendees. A tabletop trade fair of exhibits and networking opportunity (October 7) will accompany the conference with top companies displaying their latest robotic and safety product innovations.

Pre- and post-conference workshops accompany the main conference, which features two full days of presentations and updates on robot safety and standards, successful robot applications, the latest developments and future trends and information important to everyone associated with industrial safety. With a theme of "What's Next in Robot Safety", new conference sessions include: Updating Safety Standards, Selecting Safeguards, Introduction to Safety Controls and Next Generation Robots. The new Technical Report, RIA TR R15.206-2008, and the ISO standard - ANSI/RIA/ISO 10218-1-2007 will be major topics of discussion at this twentieth anniversary edition of the Conference.
