Renewable Revolution Reflected in Perle Sales to Renewable Energy Companies up 94% in 2015

NASHVILLE, TNÂ – More capacity for renewable power, in the form of Solar, Wind, Hydro and Geothermal is added each year than coal, natural gas and oil combined. However, the Renewable Energy sector faces pressure to improve profitability and productivity as it continues to scale globally. For this, renewable energy companies are looking to the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
“Sophisticated IIoT systems are being sought as a better way to manage demand instead of simply increasing supply,” comments John Feeney, Chief Operating Officer at Perle Systems. “To goal is to increase energy output, keep these levels stable, cut operational and maintenance costs, and provide solid performance data. This requires large amounts of data connectivity and monitoring.”
As the global investment in clean energy tops $329 Billion in 2015, 4% up from previous year*, Perle is reaping some of these rewards.
John continues, “Year on year we are seeing increased sales to the Energy Sector as a whole but, the increased sales into the renewable segment in 2015 was exciting. Sales into the energy sector to renewable energy companies went from 2% in 2014 to 30% in 2015. This equated into a 94% increase in revenue from these companies.”
