Remarks by AEP's Chief Financial Officer at Credit Suisse Energy Summit to Be Webcast


COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 1, 2011 - American Electric Power (NYSE: AEP) has scheduled a live audio webcast of a presentation by Brian X. Tierney, executive vice president and chief financial officer, at the Credit Suisse Energy Summit in Vail, Colo., Feb. 8.

The presentation, to an audience of investors, will begin at 9 a.m. EST and can be accessed through the Internet at www.aep.com/investors/webcasts/. The webcast also will be available after the live event.

During the conference, which runs Feb. 7-11, AEP will reaffirm its 2011 ongoing earnings guidance of $3.00 to $3.20 per share.
