REGO-FIX® to Highlight Benefits of Toolholding Innovations at MMTS

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – At the Montreal Manufacturing Technology Show (MMTS) in booth 521 on May 16 - 18, REGO-FIX will showcase four of its precision tooling products ideal for demanding part machining applications in a wide range of industries, including aerospace. On display will be the powRgrip® product line that generates very high clamping forces; secuRgrip®, an anti-pullout toolholding system; intRlox®, a small, but mighty innovation for effective wrench locking; and the retrofit reCool® coolant-through system for live or static tooling.

REGO-FIX will show booth visitors its extensive line of powRgrip Toolholding Collet Systems, which include a holder, collet and mini-press, and relies on the interference between holder and collet to generate very high clamping forces equal to or higher than shrink-fit holders. Unlike other clamping systems where heat or hydraulics are used to expand the material, the powRgrip uses the mechanical properties of the holder material to generate tremendous gripping force with run-out below 0.0001". As a result, manufacturers can expect long cutting tool life and superior surface finishes.

Also representing the powRgrip product line at the show will be secuRgrip, an anti-pull system that brings simple, effective tool locking to challenging metal removal applications. This toolholding system, locks the collet and cutter to the toolholder body to eliminate cutter slippage with a patented locking system that includes a small, profiled locking key insert that fits into a standard Weldon endmill flat. The secuRgrip locking system has a TIR of 0.0001" and can be used in powRgrip, ER collet or REGO-FIX milling chuck systems.

REGO-FIX will also show how to improve operator safety, reduce tool costs and improve productivity with intRlox mini clamping nuts. Featuring a frontal milled slot on their outside diameter that mates perfectly to a corresponding wrench, intRlox clamping nuts prevent slippage during the tightening or loosening process. They are suitable for the company’s sealing or cooling disks, have a special surface treatment for increased clamping force and a unique coating that prevents corrosion.

Also on display will be the retrofit reCool coolant-through system, a quick, cost-effective and low-maintenance way to bring the benefits of internal cooling to the live tooling used in CNC turning operations and static toolholders on Swiss automatic machines when used with the inteRlox anti-slip nut design. reCool converts an existing tooling system to include through-coolant in as little as two minutes, bringing benefits of extended tool life and enhanced chip removal.
