Oak Brook, Illinois – Registration for the Warehousing Education and Research Council’s (WERC) 39th Annual Conference for Logistics Professionals is now open and can be accessed at www.werc.org/2016. The Conference will be held in Providence, Rhode Island at the Rhode Island Convention Center on May 15-18, 2016 and includes three days packed with educational sessions.

During the sessions, subject matter experts share industry-specific ideas for actionable strategies to improve processes and operations in a variety of topic areas—metrics, outsourcing, people, transportation, reverse logistics, real estate and more—in industries such as retail, healthcare / pharmaceutical and manufacturing. Speakers and panelists already confirmed for the Conference represent a variety of major corporations, including: Amway, CVS Health, Kroger, New Balance, Ocean Spray Cranberries, Sephora, Walmart and Yankee Candle.

WERC Conference registration also includes off-site facility tours, intimate and relaxed networking, and a Solutions Center featuring the latest innovative products and solutions. The annual event routinely draws nearly 1,100 senior-level warehousing, logistics and supply chain professionals.

Deb Parmé, vice president of Amway Corp.’s Supply Chain Center of Excellence, serves as the 2016 Conference Committee Chairperson. She notes that feedback from past attendees shows that the majority of participants come for the chance to benchmark and brainstorm with their peers, sharing ideas that improve operations for a more enhanced customer experience.

“The WERC Conference is all about solutions,” says Parmé. “It’s a terrific place to immerse yourself in the latest process strategies, as well as the newest technology and equipment supporting those programs. Plus, we build in multiple opportunities to network with friends and colleagues—old and new—in a variety of casual settings.”

“Early Bird” Conference registration fees are in effect until April 1, 2016, with additional discounts extended to WERC members who are industry practitioners or full-time educators. Non-members of WERC are also welcomed to the event.

For persons needing assistance in convincing their managers to agree to Conference participation, WERC offers a complete package of Budget and Planning Tools designed to provide supporting documentation about the benefits of attendance. Included are a personal request letter and worksheet, an overview of confirmed topics and session titles, a list of the companies that send attendees to Conference, and an estimate of travel and registration costs.
