WASHINGTON--The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) announces registration and housing for the 2013 BIO International Convention is now available. Hosted by BIO, the global event for biotechnology will be held April 22-25, 2013 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. The Convention, celebrating its 20th anniversary, brings together life science leaders and policy makers from around the globe looking to address the biotech industry’s most pressing issues.

The state has a long history of technological breakthroughs in biotechnology, chemistry, physics, computing and communications. The 2013 BIO International Convention program will feature three days of cutting-edge educational sessions which will see shorter session times, interactive panel discussions with dynamic speakers and a more informal room set which will allow for audience engagement. New this year, the programming on Monday will feature the International Spotlights and Policies Track, a full day program focused on the BRIC countries. Additional Monday programming includes: BioTech Primer; Translational Research Forum; Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Boot Camp; Breakout Sessions and International Market Briefings.

The BIO International Convention also features the industry's largest partnering event, hosting a record breaking 25,000+ partnering meetings in 2012. More than 4,000 companies participated in One-on-One Partnering meetings in the BIO Business Forum™ and in the BIO Exhibition.
