WASHINGTON, -- The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) has opened registration for its 2015 Annual Meeting & EXPO, to be held November 6-9 in Chicago at McCormick Place. ASLA's annual meeting is the largest gathering of landscape architecture professionals and students in the world.

The 2015 meeting, themed "Perspectives," highlights the comprehensive viewpoint that helps enable landscape architects to effectively solve today's complex planning and environmental design problems.

According to ASLA President K. Richard Zweifel, FASLA, this year will be the first time ASLA has hosted its annual meeting in Chicago since 2009. He says attendees will again be able to experience the continued accomplishments of this world-class city in taking advantage of its location and rich landscape architecture heritage.

"We are going to have a fantastic meeting in Chicago this year," says Zweifel. "In addition to the annual meeting's education sessions and EXPO, ASLA members love great cities, and they particularly love Chicago. The influence of Chicago's landscape continues to evolve and grow tremendously and there is no better way to celebrate the landscape architecture profession than to hold a meeting there."

More than 6,000 attendees are expected, and the meeting will feature a diverse spectrum of industry experts providing perspectives on a wide range of subjects, from sustainable design to active living to best practices and new technologies. More than 130 education sessions and field sessions will be presented during the meeting, providing attendees with the opportunity to earn up to 21 professional development hours under the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System(TM) (LA CES(TM)). Many of the sessions will also qualify for continuing education credit with the Green Building Certification Institute (toward LEED AP credential maintenance), the American Institute of Architects, the American Institute of Certified Planners, and other allied professional organizations and state registration boards.

The EXPO--the largest trade show in the industry--will feature nearly 500 exhibitors offering thousands of new products, services, technology applications, and design solutions, all under one roof.
