Raymond Reach-Fork® Truck Featured on 'How It's Made®' Television Show

GREENE, N.Y. - How is a Reach-Fork® truck made? Find out July 17, 2009, when The Raymond Corporation is featured on the Science Channel's "How It's Made®" television show.

The production team from "How It's Made" visited Raymond's Brantford, Ontario, manufacturing facility in August 2008 to film the manufacturing process of the Raymond® Reach-Fork truck. The team spent approximately nine hours capturing the process, from the bending of the sheet metal to assembling the electronics to wrapping the completed truck for shipping.

"Reach-Fork trucks are complex machines that feature state-of-the-art design and high-quality parts and materials. They are core material handling equipment in warehouses and distribution centers across the globe," says Jim Malvaso, Raymond's president and CEO. "We are looking forward to sharing how Reach-Fork trucks are produced."

The Reach-Fork truck is the best-selling reach truck in North America and was first invented by Raymond in 1951. This project began in 1949 as an annual space-saving analysis and grew into the invention of a revolutionary, narrow aisle lift truck. Raymond's current Reach-Fork truck includes Raymond's revolutionary ACR System(TM), as well as the capability to utilize energy-efficient and environmentally friendly hydrogen fuel cell technology. Raymond continues to create and implement new enhancements that reduce costs and improve productivity.
