Will Streamline Licensing Process for Manufactured Defense Goods and Technologies

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Vice President of International Economic Affairs Frank Vargo issued the following statement today welcoming Senate ratification of Defense Trade Cooperation Treaties with the United Kingdom and Australia and both chambers' passage of the implementing legislation:

"Manufacturers welcome ratification of these important defense treaties. By streamlining the licensing process for manufactured defense goods and technologies between our countries and improving defense cooperation, these treaties will improve U.S. national security and global competitiveness. We will continue to work with the Administration and Congress to improve the export control system so that it is aligned with America's current security needs and allows manufacturers to compete in the global economy."
