R&D Circuits Acquires Socket Division of Cascade Microtech


R&D Circuits Inc. announced that it has acquired the test socket design and manufacturing division of Cascade Microtech, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCD). The division operates out of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and will now operate under the name R&D INTERCONNECT SOLUTIONS.

Jim Russell, President and CEO of R&D Circuits said, "We were attracted to the company because of its technology, resources and capabilities." Formerly known as Gryphics, Inc., the company is recognized for its "Grypper" line of high performance pins. Russell added, "The acquisition enables us to expand our operations capacity and accelerate new product technologies such as our Elastechtm product line."

Tom Bresnan, R&D Circuits Sales Manager said, "The merger of products and services provides a complete product offering to our customers. We now have a comprehensive A.T.E. interconnect solution set, which will enable us to control product quality and supply-chain management for shorter lead-times."
