QuickServer Gateway Provides Commercial Grade HVAC Control for Control4 Systems

FieldServer Drivers Deliver Integrated Access to Over 110 Commercial and Residential Device Networks

FieldServer Technologies, the leading provider of building automation gateways, today announced that the company's QuickServer Gateway is now fully integrated with Control4 automation solutions to deliver seamless HVAC control for commercial projects. The QuickServer gateway with the new Control4 driver allows access to over 110 commercial/residential device networks such as BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, and more via serial, bus, or network (Ethernet, TCP/IP). Thermostat manufacturers tested and support by FieldServer include Carrier, Delta Controls, GE, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Mitsubishi, and Schneider Automation.

By making it easy for Control4 Dealers to integrate commercial HVAC control with lighting and AV automation, the QuickServer gateway opens up incredible business opportunities for Control4 dealers who are focusing on commercial and large, luxury residential projects. For larger projects that need to interface to additional devices and systems, FieldServer is the only gateway manufacturer that offers such a wide range of protocol interfaces which allows Control4 to interface with all applicable devices.

When Compushine, a Control4 integrator based in New York, was designing a central control system for a 5-story, $40 million executive home in Manhattan, they chose FieldServer QuickServer gateway as a trusted interoperability solution. The Control4 system needed to interface with the Delta Warmboard HVAC solution using BACnet MS/TP and the dealer needed to easily perform the required integration and meet the customer's occupancy deadline. Using XML, FieldServer easily brought all of the necessary data from the Delta Warmboard control into the Control4 system. "FieldServer made it possible for Control4 to move from residential control to light commercial with ease," said Craig M. Cohen of Compushine, Inc.

Richard Theron, Sales Manager for FieldServer states, "We are excited about this partnership opportunity, meeting the needs of Control4, their integrators and their customers to provide seamless and powerful integration to HVAC, fire panel and other building automation systems."

"We are confident that our dealers will be impressed by the power of the QuickServer gateway and the opportunities it creates for them to integrate commercial-grade HVAC systems within high-end residential and commercial Control4 solutions," says Jim Arnold, Senior VP of Sales.

The new FieldServer QuickServer gateway driver for Control4 will be available with the release of Control4 OS 2.3 software.
