Q-Lab's Brad Reis Elected as Chair of ASTM Subcommittee on Paints and Coatings


Q-Lab, the worldwide leader in accelerated weathering equipment and outdoor exposure test services, is pleased to announce that Mr. Brad Reis was recently elected as Chairman of ASTM’s Subcommittee D01.27. This group focuses on accelerated testing for paints and coatings.



Brad has been serving as temporary chair of this subcommittee since June 2013.



Brad is an active member of numerous ASTM committees and subcommittees, and has been involved in a number of working groups for the revision of various standards.  He was in charge of the working group responsible for the release of ASTM D7869, a modern practice for accelerated weathering of transportation coatings, and is the project leader for the revision of ASTM G154, the practice of fluorescent UV exposure of non-metallic materials. He is currently the Vice President of Marketing for Q-Lab.



Throughout his 23-year professional career, Mr. Reis has held various technical leadership roles in marketing, new product development, applications engineering, equipment design, and intellectual property.  His broad experience stems from working at several leading technology companies, including General Electric, W. L. Gore Associates, and most recently GrafTech International, before joining the Q-Lab team.



Brad holds over 30 US patents and has authored many papers in the field of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and thermal management.
