PTDA Foundation Surpasses Fund Drive Goal in 2009

Chicago-Oct. 23, 2009-Reflecting industry-wide support for the Power Transmission Distributors Association (PTDA) Foundation's core initiative, Industrial Careers Pathway® (ICP), the PTDA Foundation to-date has raised a total of $216,733 for its annual fund drive in 2009, slipping past its set goal of $215,000.

The 2009 Fund Drive was bolstered in part by a new partnership program for ICP rolled out at the beginning of the year. For the first time, the PTDA Foundation offered other associations an opportunity to help set the strategic for the ICP initiative, in exchange for a financial and functional commitment to the program.

As a result of the program, six Alliance Partners and three Alliance Supporters signed on to ICP, including:

ICP Alliance Partners:
  • ASA Education Foundation
  • Bearing Specialist Association
  • International Association of Plastics Distributors
  • ISA Educational Foundation
  • National Fluid Power Association
  • Power Transmission Distributors Association

    ICP Alliance Supporters:
  • FPDA Motion & Control Network
  • HALO/HARDI
  • NAHAD

These new partnerships combined with the long-standing commitment of PTDA members to maintain momentum in a recessionary year.

"In a year when executives faced tough budgetary decisions, the continued strong support of PTDA members and industry partners is both inspiring and energizing," said PTDA Foundation Executive Director Phyllis Russell. "With these results, we know that our peers are joined together in preparing for our industry's future."

    Fund Drive Highlights:
  • Once again, IDC-USA and its members are leading the way with a combined contribution of $10,250, followed closely by ISA Educational Foundation's contribution of $10,000.
  • Thirteen new investors contributed a total of $11,100, including first-time support of $5,000 from Bearing Specialists Association.
  • Even in this challenging economy, eight ongoing supporters found a way to increase their contributions, adding $10,600 in new funding.
