Powers Fasteners Expands Engineering Support Staff; Appoints 3 to Field Technical Service Positions


Powers Fasteners, Inc., has expanded its rapidly growing engineering staff with the appointments of Kent Carlson and Annemarie Fleming as Field Technical Service Managers for the Western and Eastern regions respectively, and Bob Sinclair as Field Engineer for the Northwest region.

The appointments were announced by Len Colasuonno, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, who said their focus will be calling on the engineering community to help enlighten product specifiers on the recent code changes and to ensure proper anchor selection.

Powers Fasteners is the leading domestic manufacturer of concrete anchoring systems and offers an extensive line of mechanical and adhesive anchors, roofing fasteners, gas-technology tools and powder actuated fastening systems serving professional construction and plant maintenance markets.

Mr. Carlson has more than 25 years engineering experience in the construction industry and joins Powers after serving six years as Director of Engineering for Shearmax Corporation in Hesteria, California. He has operated his own structural engineering consulting firm and was also a partner in a materials test laboratory. Mr. Carlson has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from North Dakota State University and was registered as a Professional Engineer in 1984. He is married, has three children and lives in Altadena, California.

Ms. Fleming joins Powers as Field Technical Service Manager for the Eastern region after serving as Account Executive for Global Spec, an engineering marketing service firm in Troy, N.Y. She is a native of North Brunswick, N.J., and has more than 20 years experience in the business development and sales fields. She holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Rutgers University, and lives in White Plains, N.Y. with her husband and two children.

Mr. Sinclair brings more than 28 years engineering experience in the federal government to his new position as Field Engineer. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from California State University, Sacramento, and a master's degree in testing and evaluation from California State University, Northridge. Mr. Sinclair is a registered Professional Engineer, and served six years as a Technical Service Representative for ITW Ramset/Redhead after retiring from the government. He is married, has a daughter and grandchild, and lives in Portland, Ore.

Powers Fasteners is headquartered in Brewster, N.Y., and has manufacturing facilities in Michigan, Indianapolis and Chicago, along with 28 regional sales locations throughout the United States.
