PM Design Competition Judging Concluded



Judging of all entries submitted by part producers that are members of the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) for the 2012 Powder Metallurgy Design Excellence Awards competition was held April 19 at MPIF headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey. The Grand Prizes and Awards of Distinction selected in the judging will be announced and presented at the Industry Recognition Luncheon, June 11, during the PowderMet2012 conference and exhibition to be held at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

MPIF sponsors the annual design competition to recognize components that epitomize the possibilities inherent in this metal-forming technology. Entries are evaluated within end-use categories according to a stringent set of criteria, which includes a component's contribution to the concept of sustainability embraced by the PM industry.

The 2012 judging panel consisted of Scott Davis, Hoeganaes Corporation, Thomas J. Jesberger, Abbott Furnace Company, Michael McDermott, Ametek, Inc., Thomas Pelletiers, SCM Metal Products, Inc., and Roland Warzel, North American Höganäs Inc.
