PM Sintering Short Course met with great success.

Returning after hiatus of nearly 13 years, EPMA's Short Course took place March 18-20, 2012 in Helsingborg, Sweden. Sintering - Fundamentals and Mass Production saw 65 engineers and scientists from throughout Europe joined by 12 speakers from industry and academia. Together, they examined practical capabilities and applications of sintering technology as applied to powder metallurgy process. Participants had opportunity to discuss and explore problems and case studies.

PM Sintering Short Course a Runaway Success



After a hiatus of nearly 13 years, the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) reintroduced the Short Course, which took place 18th - 20th March 2012. The Elite Hotel Marina Plaza in Helsingborg, Sweden provided the venue for a highly successful two-day course on "Sintering - Fundamentals and Mass Production". Sixty-five engineers and scientists from throughout Europe joined with twelve speakers drawn from both industry and academia to examine the practical capabilities and applications of sintering technology as applied to the powder metallurgy process. Lectures included: Fundamentals of Sintering - Theory and Practice; Sintering Atmospheres - Thermodynamics, Selection and Production; Analysis of a Typical Sintering Belt Furnace; Debinding/Delubing/Cooling and Sinterhardening amongst others. Participants had the opportunity to discuss and explore problems and case studies with the finest experts in their field.

"We are delighted with the success of this course" said Jonathan Wroe, EPMA Executive Director, "and we are planning to run another one next year".
