Pilot Chemical Appoints New Board Member


CINCINNATI, March 13, 2009 - Pilot Chemical Company, a leading manufacturer of surfactants has appointed
David Ligon to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Ligon is currently the founder and managing Partner of Brightwell Capital Partners, LLC, an asset management
and advisory firm serving privately held U.S. based businesses based in Los Angeles, California. Prior to founding
Brightwell in 2008 he worked for Emporia Capital Management, Union Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, First Interstate
Bank and Bank of America.

Mr. Ligon has over 24 years of experience with privately held "middle-market" businesses in diverse industries
throughout the U.S. His experience includes acquisitions, consolidations, marketing, origination, underwriting,
restructuring, problem loan resolution, portfolio management, loan syndications, asset based lending, leasing, cash
flow lending, treasury management, equity and debt placements, and international trade.

Mr. Ligon also serves on the Board of Directors for two non-profit organizations- All God's Children International, an
international adoption and orphan care organization based in Portland, Oregon; and the Neighborhood Urban
Family Center, which provides children in urban Pasadena, California with after-school education, support and
development.

Mr. Ligon graduated with High Honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1985 with an undergraduate degree
in Finance and has completed various training and continuing education courses throughout his career, including
the joint Stanford/Harvard executive course in leading change & organizational renewal.
