ASTM International Annual Symposium on Pesticide Formulation and Delivery Systems Will Be Held in October

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.-The 33rd Symposium on Pesticide Formulation and Delivery Systems: "Sustainability: Contributions from Formulation Technology" will be held Oct. 23-25, 2012, at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, Ga. Sponsored by ASTM International Committee E35 on Pesticides, Antimicrobials and Alternative Control Agents, the symposium will be held in conjunction with the October standards development meetings of the committee.

The 2012 symposium will address sustainability and the role the formulation chemist plays in this arena. In addition to the use of renewable resources, sustainability can be defined in many other ways, such as the efficient use of inputs, agronomic practices and increased efficacy with respect to performance. Many topics will be apparent within this theme. The symposium has several purposes, such as:
· It provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of new pesticide, adjuvant, fertilizer and related agrichemical product formulations;
· It provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of chemistry and physical properties of chemicals used to manufacture such formulations;
· It provides a forum for new ideas regarding delivery systems;
· Standards may be presented as well as the science behind those standards; and
· It provides a venue for networking among participants.

Online registration is now open and closes Oct. 17. The attendance fee for ASTM members and non-ASTM members is $260 USD for online registration and $285 USD for on-site registration. The fees include the cost of the resulting Selected Technical Papers (printed volume of peer-reviewed symposium papers) that will be sent to all symposium attendees. There is no attendance fee for presenters, session chairs and students with a valid ID.
