People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

TechAmerica, a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced the promotion of Trey Hodgkins to senior vice president, global public sector. He is responsible for all advocacy, public policy, and business development activities for companies facing the public-sector market. With TechAmerica for seven years, Mr. Hodgkins previously served as senior vice president for national security and procurement policy.

A recognized expert in procurement, cybersecurity and national security, Mr. Hodgkins has over 29 years of experience in the federal, state, and local government arenas. In his previous role at TechAmerica, he focused on the use of information technology at the Department of Defense and in the intelligence community, and on the acquisition and procurement policies of the federal government. Previously, he served as staff in the Louisiana Legislature, and as a federal liaison for several other prominent trade associations. He holds bachelor's degrees in political science and history from Louisiana State University and a master's degree in legislative affairs from the George Washington University.

TechAmerica is a trade association for the U.S. technology industry with 1,000 member companies spanning the spectrum of technology. Through grassroots-to-global policy advocacy, the association promotes and protects the industry's interests while helping members access commercial and government executives, peers, financial analysts, and investors.
