The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), an organizational member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced the appointment of Louis A. Finkel as executive vice president of government affairs. Mr. Finkel will lead GMA and its member companies in their efforts to develop, promote, and implement responsible public policy solutions that benefit consumers worldwide.

Mr. Finkel is a seasoned strategist with nearly 20 years experience on Capitol Hill. He served as chief of staff for the U.S House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology, where he advanced the committee's legislative and oversight agenda and helped modernize and transform the committee through effective organizational and personnel management policies.

Prior to joining GMA, he served as vice president, federal public affairs group, with McGuireWoods Consulting, LLC, where he represented corporations, trade association, and non-profit clients before Congress and executive branch agencies. Mr. Finkel also previously served in the government relations office of ExxonMobil.
