People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community. ANSI organizational member the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) has appointed JC Scott as senior executive vice president and director of bipartisan government affairs. Mr. Scott joins AdvaMed from the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), where he served as senior vice president of federal relations. At ACLI he led lobbying efforts on the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, as well as on a number of major tax and retirement security initiatives. He previously served as deputy director for policy at the House Republican Conference, and in a number of capacities for Representative Deborah Pryce (R-OH). Mr. Scott is a graduate of Duke University and earned his J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center.
