The American Petroleum Institute (API), an organizational member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced the addition of Carrie Melvin Domnitch to its government relations team as director of federal relations. Previously, Ms. Domnitch was the director of federal affairs for the American Chemistry Council. In 2006-2007 she served as chief of staff for Representative Thelma Drake (R-VA), and prior to that as legislative director. Her long tenure on Capitol Hill also included eight years as legislative assistant to Representative Mike Biliraks (R-Fl). She is a graduate of the University of Virginia. API is a national trade association representing the interests of more than 470 oil and natural gas companies. API members include oil and gas producers, refiners, suppliers, pipeline operators, marine transporters, and service and supply companies.
