American National Standards Institute (ANSI) member ICC-Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) has announced two new positions to its ranks.

Jim Collins joins ICC-ES as director of engineering, where he will help to lead the organization into a future of expanding business, greater staff cohesiveness, and productivity. Mr. Collins comes to ICC-ES from Illinois Tool Works (ITW), where he served as chief engineer. He is a licensed engineer with B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in civil engineering.

As the director of sales for ICC-ES, Mike Temesvary will work with the business development, marketing, and client relations staffs to educate customers about ICC-ES services and bring new business to the organization. Mr. Temesvary brings a combination of technical training, business planning, and marketing experience to ICC-ES. Before joining ICC-ES, Mike led his own structural engineering firm in Los Angeles, managing construction projects from initial planning through completion.

A subsidiary of the International Code Council, ICC-ES performs technical evaluations of building products, components, methods, and materials to determine compliance with codes and standards. ICC-ES' technical reports are used by regulatory agencies and building-product manufacturers to help determine code compliance and regulatory approval.

The ICC is an ANSI member and accredited standards developer dedicated to building safety, fire prevention, and energy efficiency. Many ICC codes and standards serve as the basis for construction of federal properties around the world, and as a reference for many nations outside the United States.
