Pelican(TM) Expands Its International Operations Names High-Tech Supply Chain Executive Nick Newman Vice President


TORRANCE, CA -­ November 6, 2007- Continuing its dynamic global growth trend, Pelican(TM) Products, a global leader in the design and manufacture of advanced lighting systems and virtually indestructible cases for protecting valuable equipment has created the new position of Vice President of Worldwide Operations and tapped Nick Newman for the post.

Newman plans to utilize his more than 20 years of global supply chain experience and critical expertise to efficiently run and continuously improve every aspect of Pelican's customer-focused supply chain operations. He is also responsible for the leadership of more than 400 Pelican plant staff (on two continents) to ensure that the company's ambitious worldwide manufacturing goals are met.

Prior to joining Pelican, Newman championed Six Sigma & LEAN implementations for Nokia(TM), Inc. one of the world's largest cellular phone manufacturing operations as Vice President of Operations, Logistics and Sourcing for the Americas Region. More recently, he served as Vice President of Worldwide Operations for Magellan® Navigation (formerly Thales Navigation), one of the world's leading providers of GPS Solutions.

Newman has run Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations for other World Class Companies in Europe, Asia and South America and holds an HNC degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Brooklands Technical College in the United Kingdom.
