PEKK Granules for Injection Molding Ideal for High-Temperature Engineering Applications

Oakdale, PA - June 30, 2009 - Goodfellow Corporation offers polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) granules that provide significant advantages when used to produce injection-molded components for high-temperature engineering applications.

PEKK has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 162°C (semi-crystalline grade) and is able to maintain a high degree of chemical resistance as well as its physical properties up to its Tg. In addition, PEKK has an extremely slow rate of crystallization, leading to improved flow characteristics, lower molded-in stresses and greater dimensional stability. This slow rate of crystallization also makes it possible for amorphous films of PEKK to remain transparent even at higher operating temperatures, when materials like polyetheretherketone (PEEK) will have crystallized and become opaque.

PEKK is also available from Goodfellow as film, sheet and rod- forms that are used in applications that include flexible PCBs and items used in aerospace and radiation environments .

Goodfellow Corporation is one of the Goodfellow Group of Companies.
