PCI CEO Featured in TRUMPF Express

(Hanover, PA, USA) Brian Greenplate, president, CEO and owner of Precision Cut Industries, was featured in the August edition of TRUMPF Express, an industry magazine for sheet metal processing. The article discussed the major changes initiated by Greenplate since his purchase of the high-tech laser cutting operation, which uses TRUMPF laser cutting machines. Among other things, the innovative CEO developed a dynamic plan for the future of the company and married the "strategic focus and structure" of a large corporation with the "entrepreneurial culture and agility" of a small business. "There's a certain level of structure, procedure and discipline a company needs to be successful," says Greenplate.

While processes can bring stability, Greenplate acknowledges that too many procedures can create unnecessary delays and bureaucracy, particularly in larger companies. By contrast, smaller companies are sometimes more able to rapidly adjust operations to meet changing market demands. "The ability to quickly modify what your company is doing to meet your customers' needs is a huge advantage," he says.

Today PCI is a high-tech contract manufacturer running three shifts per day, five days a week. The company is devoted to keeping relationships with its customers ongoing, long-term and focused on contract manufacturing work. All of these changes have increased the company's revenues from $3 to $12 million since Greenplate took the reins.

TRUMPF Express is an industry publication for sheet metal fabrication that appears three times a year with a total print run of 31,000 in German and English. Local editions are also available in North America (English, Spanish) and Great Britain (English). In addition to this, various subsidiaries the world over publish special editions in the local language.
