PACSGEAR Launches MediaWriter at Upcoming SIIM Annual Meeting

Affordable, Distributed CD/DVD Burning Solution

PLEASANTON, Calif., May 22 -- PACSGEAR, Inc., the leader in document and multimedia connectivity for PACS/EHR, today announced the introduction of PACSGEAR MediaWriter(TM), an affordable, distributed CD/DVD burning solution. MediaWriter, which writes DICOM files to portable media with one click, will be featured at the upcoming SIIM Annual Meeting in Providence, Rhode Island. MediaWriter gives hospitals, outlying departments and imaging centers a DICOM distribution solution that is easy to configure, deploy and maintain.

"MediaWriter is another easy-to-use product from PACSGEAR designed to help our customers solve real-world problems," said Brian J. Cavanaugh, President of PACSGEAR. "Its ability to combine studies from multiple DICOM devices and write to different portable media will be very important for remote, image-intensive departments. The burner/printer is the size of a loaf of bread and can quickly print color labels as it spins."

"PACSGEAR's MediaWriter gives us a simple way to burn DICOM CDs, DVDs and USB memory sticks anywhere we generate patient images. It is cost-effective and lets us move away from a centralized approach," said R.L. "Skip" Kennedy, Technical Director of Imaging Informatics, Kaiser Permanente Northern California. "We found the ability to create CDs directly from the modality user interface especially useful."
